Nelsons own writing was akin to a spider walking across the inkwell before the paper. You will note the day month format of his dating when written by his own somewhat battle scared left hand.

Other letters such as this example do indeed follow the month day format as suggested, however, is it not possible that the letter was narrated by Nelson, and thus the date is written as it may have been spoken. I suggest narration as by this point, had he not been relieved of his right arm?

Yet another very letter clearly not written by Nelson's hand again uses Day month format

All in all I call Drews statement that Nelsons letters be dated using the month day format as mildly misleading.
Can we get back to d-cups now
