    Julian Leyton

I'm sad to report the death of Julian Leyton who passed away peacefully last night amongst his family.

He has been fighting cancer since 2020 when he was given months to live, his positive attitude has been an inspiration to all of us who knew him. His family gave him a surprise party a couple of weeks ago to which he drove to in his beloved Stag, he was so happy to meet many of his old friends from his long career in the motoring industry, he always had a good tale to tell.a4I1PyCWSWC6VyKOVD0zRg.jpg
Many of you will remember his valuable contributions to this forum over many years, which are still being referred to now.

Julian, it was an honour knowing you R.I.P.

I was honoured to be able to call Julian a friend and I was humbled by the stoicism and determination with which he fought his illness. He will be missed by many and remembered with great fondness by those who knew him. RIP Julian, my friend.

Very sad. Julian was the first Stag owner I met after my purchase. A true selfless gentleman, helping others always foremost in his mind.

Very sorry to hear that. I have met Julian many times and he was very helpful when I was struggling to remove the cylinder heads in 2014, travelling down to give me a hand. Last time we met was, purely by chance, on the Isle of Wight in September 2021 when my wife and I were on holiday in our Stag and he was using his on a classic tour with motor journalists. Julian grew upon the I.O.W. when his father worked for Saunders Roe on the UK Rocket Programme. A very selfless man and it was an honour to know him. R.I.P.

Oh, that is sad to read. I dealt with Julian some years back when I helped get a BMW boot lid he wanted to him, he was, as many have said here,a gentleman.
