Tonneau cover cable

I have spent ages today ripping out the back seat, and trying to get my arm up behind the seat back to release the soft top catch as the cables have gone slack and refuse to unlock using the lever. After turning the air blue,I have succeeded, the soft top is away and will stay there. However, can anyone recommend the best source of new cables or is it a case of they are all the same in terms of quality?

Should have got Matthew to crawl in there!

For replacement cables you could try a bicycle brake cable if you just need the inner bit, otherwise I would try LD and then Paddocks.

Waiting for a new viscous coupling to arrive so I can get back on the road again, missed out on the nice weather this weekend, but got some oil leaks fixed on the landy, so not all bad.

i adjusted my slack cables last week as had the same problem, cant you do the same ?

I may be able to adjust them but the outer sheathing is chewed up so I'm not sure.

try it 1st just undo the little i think 1/4" bolt on the end of the inner cable clampand move it along a bit

I Brought new cables from tony hart more expensive than the others but they were eally well made better than the originals and a breeze to fit all metal adjusters.

Hi Tim

I have taken the bolts out of the rear seats and tied them in place with strong string, if the cable snaps or the lid wont open I just need to pull very hard on the seat and the string snaps
