    3/4 inch ball

Hi, I’m new to this forum. I recently started to help a man rebuilding his Stag MK2 75. It was partly restaured 24 years ago. When storting all parts we found a 3/4inch steel ball, looked like it had contact with oil, we cannot identify or find in the manual. Has someone any idea?
    thanks

could be out of the fuel cut-off switch; not quite 3/4" but a solid steel ball is used to break the fuel circuit in case of an accident.
    The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137
