Hoping someone can help with why my hood won’t go fully down. I’ve had the car a couple of years and it’s now ready to use after some work to it. I’ve tried several times to lower the hood but it gets to the point of all being sat on the back seat top and won’t go past it. It looks fine when raised and isn’t too difficult to put up. I had a Stag years ago and had no problem getting it stowed. I’ve looked at all moving parts and nothing seems seized. The hood was removed for restoration work by PO. If anyone knows about hoods and lives near SG5 help would be much appreciated. It would be great to be able to lower it now the weather is finally improving! Any suggestions also welcome, thanks.

Hood lowering problem

Thanks Julian, I’d watched videos before and what I realised from watching the one you linked is that the frame wasn’t folding as it should. With a bit of help it did fold correctly and I’ve now lubricated all joints and managed to stow it.
During previous attempts the spiky bit went through the hood and I have a 3cm cut. Any suggestions for repairing? I’m thinking glue a patch to the inside but using what glue?
Thanks again, annoying problem solved!
