hi Guys,
need to vent and apolagies, had a small water leak on the old girl, found that the thermostat housing was the problem. took it off plus all the silicone and found that the bottom bolt had been siliconed in, you could'nt tell when looking at it,the thermostat was alsosiliconed in!!! the wrong stat fitted and no gasket!!!! this was the problem. the complete and utter WANKER, hestripped the thred on the bottom bolt hole, to the point that it is smooth, and now i have to helicoil it to sort it out!!!
this means a strip down for a 10 minute job!!! they make me so mad!! why do they do it
sorry rant over has anyone used helicoils for this type of job before?
