I would have thought that the fuxed jet carb if blocked up would be too lean and not too rich. Plus it is a weber installation. perfectly set up and jetted for each and every stag v8 init.

Excess number of cold starts and short journeys would do that to spark plugs, a half decent Italian Tune up usually fixes that particular issue, suspect though that your root cause lays elsewhere. Clean up the plugs and check the gap. be sure that each HT lead properly clicks into both the cap and the plug

Now now boys , testing the water as I have been offered a maual gearbox Stag.

Whoever recommended SOC spares on here?

The leads look exactly the same but cheaper rybber bits and connectors inside look cheap are cheap and not as good as the ones that were on it.

Ive changed the leads and plugs tonight , no8 lead that connects to distributer was not connected at the angled connector.

Cleaned webberstag carb with carb cleaner, fitting new fuel filter tomorrow , then hopefully its as should be , tickety boo or should i say a lovely raspy V8 burble
