I read this thread.
I think I’m a ‘lud-light’
Spent about 6 years searching for a nos Lucas set of halogens.
just about the time I got a full set, I noticed a set of Lucas (4) replacements had been made for about the same price as 1 nos lamp
have not seen them offered recently though.
I do have leds in the instruments though….oh & a pair of leds as tail & brake lamps too.
Down with blindingly silly lamps.
The clowncil have installed one about 5 metres away from my bedroom too.Last edited by jbuckl; 10 June 2023, 12:49.

I am afraid LED headlights on new cars are here to stay, and may even get brighter. On a recent episode of Car S.O.S. Tim Shaw visited the Hella research and development department. Apparently Tungsten headlights gave out 10 Lumens per Watt, Halogen were 25 Lumens per Watt, Xenon 90 Lumens per Watt and LED are now 150 Lumens per Watt.
Worth watching Car S.O.S. Ultimate Countdown S4 Ep4 if you can.
May be worth investing in light reactive sunglasses for driving at night.Dave
