Having found that the protective bracket that is on the stowage lid was bending the header rail and flattening the seal
has anyone else jab this ?
thanks Rich
I didn't have the bracket and my hood leading edge, centre rubbed through so I fitted a bracket. If you leave it off I would ensure you have a protective duster etc just to place on top to protect the fabric of the roof.

I had the same problem as Alan when I bought my Stag many years ago, where the bracket was missing, and the edge of the fabric was fraying. Tony Hart sold me a used one, but it soon bent to the point of uselessness. I got a friend in our tool room at work to make me a copy out of heavier gauge stainless.
I don't have the bracket because it causes damage to the seal and/or front of the hood cover. Only downside, if you have pointy front levers, is that they can mark the paint on the tonneau cover.
