I always use a thin layer of copper grease on the back of the pads and shims.

There are supposed to be anti-squeal shims fitted, but your mech probably forgot, as Kevin says, smear copper slip on the back of each pad, and don't get it anywhere near the friction surfaces, bit of a pain but it's a permanent once only cure. Martin.

And if you still suffer from squealing you could try the old approach and cut a groove in each of the pads - end up looking something like this:

Just make sure you wear a mask if you cut those pads.

Copper-based grease on the back should do the trick. You could also try chamfering the front and rear edge a bit.

I have today fitted EBC Greenstuff pads, following recommendations from other members. Only done a few miles, so looking forward to getting them bedded in.

Bought them from www.brakes4u.co.uk £38.99 including P&Pand VAT. Ordered online Sunday night and arrived this morning. Excellent service

I tried copper grease, anti-squeal shims etc, and at the third time of removing them, realised the pads were very tight in the calipers, so when the brakes were applied, they did not back off the disc.
I could see shiny marks round the circumferance of the pad where they had been tight and binding, so carefully filed some of the metal away, and they have been ok since. Had me really puzzled for a while, and was really annoying when driving.
hope this helps if all else fails.
