Door striker plate

Noticed the passenger door striker plate has come loose on MK1 passenger door.
The screws are a mix of slotted and pozi type and are reluctant to make a tight fixing - before I remove them to check the state of the threads, are they going into captive nuts or a floating plate that may drop off?

The manual and Rimmers exploded parts diagram aren’t showing anything unless I’m missing it.

I’ll hedge my bet and keep one screw in loosely at all times just in case the cage is compromised.
