Gearbox dowel bolts

Just been reading the Kingpin article on gearbox / clutch alignment. Interesting as ever and he rightly points out that Triumph did not fit any dowel pins to the bellhousing.

He doesn't mention however that they did fit two (3/8"?) dowel boltsdesigned tolocate the gearbox correctly. Very important to make sure these bolts are fitted to avoid poor clutch operation.

Tell me about it, it's taken me three goes to get mine working right, alignment is critical as the clutch is marginal at the best of times, as is making sure all parts are as good as new with no wear! Still I am pretty good at crawling about under the car now!
