Wasn't there also a member on here some years ago, Kevin that fitted a Weber and got a very healthy amount of power/torque from his Stag?
But what does all that prove? If anyone wants to do a proper back to back comparison of the Weber with a set of Strombergs, why not just do it if that's your thing. Or just read all the Testimonials here Testimonials | Stagweber
Even though the advertising is minimal (just a small listing in the Stag Mag) the stagweber Weber carb conversion is still popular and continues to sell well after all these years mainly by user recommendation despite those same few who continue to whinge or criticise on this forum. Look at the bigger picture.
If your Strombergs are OK or easy to fix with a cheap rebuild kit then by all means keep them and enjoy. But if you are having serious concerns and need to pay someone to fix them, at least you have a choice of a guaranteed brand new alternative.
