    Fresh Rebuilt Stag Engine

Does this sound ok to you experts?

    #2
Does sound a bit rattly, but very hard to tell in a video.

How long has it been run for? I have sometimes had a clattery valve train for a few minutes on a fresh built engine, but it tends to quieten down as the engine warms up.

A screwdriver stethoscope works quite well for locating the source of the noise, sounds like yours is coming from the right hand timing chain area in your video, but it might just be the direction you are pointing the microphone.

sounds like a misfire and that those carbs may be out of sync. start with ignition leads, make sure they are all properly seated.

      Then ignition timing, then carbs

difficult to tell re engine noise because it all depends on the mic you are using
