Wheel trim differences - Stag vs 2500

Can anyone explain the difference/s between the Rostyle wheel trims for the Mk1 Stag and the large saloons?
I'm sure I've read they are not identical.
I think I've already got one 2500 - it fits the wheel but sits further away from the rim - is that it?

I thought the saloon ones were 13 inch not 14, at least the ones on my Estate were 13 inch

The ring that attaches the hubcap to the wheel is thinner on stag ones although they both fit.

        Thanks Tony.
Explains why the one I bought for a few £ at Newark sits further away from the wheel.
If I'm feeling adventurous I might have a go at drilling out the rivet and swapping the better/cleaner trim onto the narrower centre.

          Update to the above.

I've since purchased a secondhand set of all silver wheel trims but the only example I can find of a Stag fitted with them is The Fastback.
The original brochures from 1968 etc show wheel trims with the Rostyle bits painted black - the alloys being an optional extra at the time but were all silver trims ever a factory fit?

The chrome wheel trims were fitted to MK2 Stags prior to Alloys becoming an option (Apr 73), the trims with the black inserts are mk1 only. Unfortunately the Stag fastback now wears Alloys wheels as well, most people by now would have replaced the mk2 wheel trims with Alloys more the pity but hence your confusion and the reason why very few MK2 Stags wear there original wheel trims.

Fastback stag has natural finish but the usual polished spokes and rim of the trims.

can’t say much about big saloons…. Thought the mk2 had 14” rims though.
