Replacement petrol pump

Has anyone any ideas of a replacement petrol pump set up as the original pump is very unreliable. I have tried the electronic update of the original pump. It works as first
but after standing for a few weeks it is as bad as the original for reliability. Thanks John

When you say that the new pump is proving unreliable, in what way? I have one of those sold by LDpart and it's been 100% reliable over the past 50,000 miles (1,700 gallons of fuel!).

I wonder if it's the inertia switch that's giving trouble? Is the pump ticking when you turn the ignition on? Is there fuel in the filter near the n/s suspension turret?

I used an electronic converted original SU for about 15 years until I went EFI.
It never gave any trouble.
