    Gearbox Rebuild Kit

I am considering having my manual o/d gearbox rebuilt. Has anyone experience of the kits available? Prices from the usual suppliers vary quite a lot. If anyone has been down this road, I would love to hear your thoughts. I intend to have the work done by local guy who is very experienced in gearbox work

Let the rebuilder source the parts as a first option.
Only offer assistance in sourcing if needed.

Lay shafts were available that didn’t fit …. But I believe that’s fixed now.

Mike Papworth has a great deal of triumph driveline rebuilding experience . (Coventry based)

Im pretty certain he’d be wanting to source spares himself though.

usually, if you source the spares, the rebuilder has a get-out for any subsequent issues.

Also he will only really know whats needed once its apart, the kit could be a waste of money on parts that you don't need, and not include those you do.
OK the leyshaft is almost a must, but the rest just depend..

Concur with everything that Julian and Terry said.

I might add, what makes you believe that it needs a rebuild?

They are all very slightly agricultural when compared to anything from the 90s and onwards. They all make a little noise but shouldn't whine etc etc
