    Water pump cover

    How can you tell if you've got a 6 vane water pump cover, or a 12 vane ?

    The 12-vane is a shallow angle - about 29 degrees. The 6-vane is a much steeper angle. Looking on Rimmers might give the part numbers marked on the casting?

      Afaiaa you can’t tell until the cover is off.

      Be good to hear if there a way to tell beforehand though.

          Ive got the cover off, but found there's no impeller on the pump so thats another thing ill have to find when i rebuild the pump

                I think it looks like i need a 6 vane water pump impeller, who sells them or is it only second hand one ?

                  afaiaa only currently available used… or remanufactured as a complete pump…. But with a non original press fit impellor.

                  beware… impellors seal face often need a skim.
                  beware … seals being offered & readily available, do not give the correct torque to turn.

                        it did get the cage orings & grease added too.

                        nice low torque to turn .
