I have some diff backlash and it is a job I have been putting off. Today I noticed a thread on FB and it gave varying opinions. Wondering what is the best advice on how to do this job correctly? https://www.facebook.com/groups/3888...6744655721029/

Just a simple request without much effort on your part, maybe you could give examples of the different answers you got from the faecesbook, many knowledgeable people I know will not go near faecesbook for all the misinformation that it contains, true there are a few knowledgeable people there, but there are many turdpolishers.

Hey folks I think I can shed some light on this. op is trying to have a poke I think.
another member of this parish PMd me this morning that Facebook forum post had a warning about the approach I used in this video.
https://youtu.be/c-N21WSpVBE
it was the first part of 2 videos, here is the second
https://youtu.be/KBmPyyHqNkQ
the shims used are not flat, so measuring them is a pig of a job.i took total thickness of existing shims, added the end float. and then divided by 2.
i ordered a load of shims either side and then when they arrived inserted shims until I got the diff to the least end float.
worked perfectly
opinions?
I don't do faecesbook either. they withhold far too much information on members that they really do not need. deleting the account doesn't delete that info eitherStags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

I would add that for a customer's vehicle. I would just buy a diff from td Fitchett every single time.
shims to oe spec are no longer available, t d fitchett have a stock which they are using for their own rebuilds.
I have fitted two t d fitchett diff's now and they are beautifulStags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

I know this is off-topic, but as a result of my own painstaking investigations into the means used by fraudsters to commit financial crimes using my identity since 2012 I won't be signing up to Facebook or certain other social media providers anytime soon. I know this puts me at a disadvantage, but membership of this forum does help me to stay in touch with the helpful chaps who know about Stags
