    Securing Window switches for

I need to replace one of the window switches as the existing one has failed with the plastic broken internally. I have bought a new ‘Lucas’ switch yes I’ve read all the comments about poor quality but the alternatives are not available.
However the new switch bezel is designed for a thin metal panel mounting not a 10mm wooden mount.
I could swap the old bezel over but that frequently popped out anyway.
so question is, has anybody found a good way of securing the new switches in the woodwork?

DSCF1987.jpgThis is an alternative switch available at any Jag supplier DAC1301# and JD05D; good news it is made in the UK, and when you open or close your window you can hear a CLICK. Each side of the switch has two holes, and you can see the point of contact, also possible to realign the two contacts if OFF. It has male spades at the bottom, so will require female connection to connect to the wiring harness. Well worth doing as in the 8 years since my change over, switches have functioned 100%. I also wired in a resettable

New switches are now available under the Lucas Classic branding. Has anyone fitted them and have feedback?

As Neil says, I did the same - and with delicate approach I think I could get them out again.

Not found a problem with the original spring steel clips for holding them down…. But nla.

maybe glue is the answer if you don’t have 8 clips.

In other news …. Tooling for a new switch rocker has progressed. No eta yet. Soc spares were the peeps this was being done for/ with.

avoids having to buy a new switch if you have dull / faded rockers on the switches.

really hoping they’ll be available soon.

I fitted a pair of these

No problems at all. Just popped the old one out and the new one in. The console is as original.

I just wrap insulating tape round the switch and push it in the hole. takes a few goes to get it right but once done have no problem removing switches. have used this method on a number of different classics.
