You could try removing the fluid from the gaiters and the reservoir and refilling with a proprietary PS fluid containing a leak seal as sold by Halfords. It has worked for me in the past and lasted several years until I got around to rebuilding a spare rack and swapping it out. What have you got to lose?

The reservoir was almost empty so filled it with wynns power steering stop leak im not sure how long it takes to seal, I’ve only driven around the block

There's a line that runs from one side of the rack to the other. If one side of the rack has fluid in it, it's only a mater of time for the other side to be filled with fluid.

I sent mine away for refurbishment the first company that did it the fluid poured out without the pump running ?? I had to stand my ground to get them to take it back, as they said it was 5 months since they had done it, but I had only taken the car out twice, and there advert said 3 years warranty, they said I had to pay to send it back I said they should pay, so I threatened them with small claims court and I got my money and the rack back. I have had it redone with another company and now seems fine, but I have had to do the fitting myself, if I hadn't I would have had to pay for that twice too.
Last year, 2022 driving season, my PSR oil drained out of both ends of the rack;resulting in my trying to find someone here in Canada to rebuild my rack. One place said they could do it, I trusted them wrong decision, I had them overhaul my rack and had it reinstalled, took the Stag out for a drive and suddenly NO power steering. Using Popeye muscles, I managed to get the Stag back to the garage, phoned a friend who has 3 Stags, and he had found the same issues and found Theo Ouborg; theo.ouborg@gmail.com who when Rover Triumph had closed in Europe purchased all of their stock of Triumph Stag parts, his son owns a machine shop with a laser printer so can duplicate any seal needed. I and another Stag friend combined our two PSRs into one shipping container and sent them to Theo Ouborg; phone in Holland is 31-653290563.
The total cost for a complete rebuild including parts was 575 Euros, not cheap but to me, well worth it.
His address in Holland is; Theo Ouborg, LIJSTERLAAN 4, ZALTBOMMEL, Gelderland 5301. Holland.

If it is on the off side, it may be that there may be too much lateral rack movement caused by wear or mis-adjustment of the pinion reaction block (thrust plunger). This white metal block effectively pushes the rack against the pinion. This can allow oil past the seal, particularly at full lock. To check, make sure there is no force of the rack, and see how much lateral movement there is in the rack, in line with the reaction block (at right angles to the pinion axis). It should be only a few thou (7 thou) . You can reduce that movement with the rack in the car. Loosen the large lock nut, while holding the centre threaded section still with an open ended spanner across the flats. Then gently, applying very little force, do up the centre threaded section until you feel resistance. At that point there should be no backwards/forewords movement in the rack end. Then back off enough to get the 7 thou play. Then holding the centre section still, tighten up the lock nut. Check for the correct play and repeat as necessary. Here is a guide to the rack to help:
I think you should take it off and have it refurbished £210 inclu pick up and delivery I can send you the link if you want to go this way?? job done then ??
A part from a couple of places the racks just go around and around just being resealed and painted, crap in crap out, if a good one goes in a good one comes out, unless you know of someone that is manufacturing new rack shafts and new pinons and replacing the worn steel tubes and fitting new bushes to the aluminium ends????.
it's going to became a increasing problem

Martin Robey actually has pinions for the Jensen Intercepter mk3 which is essentially the same rack also the bushing in the end piece, plus a few other parts not generally available including individual seals. Unfortunately no rack shafts or housing tubes..
Mikes comment on the adjustment of the thrust plunger resonates here.. I had 2 rebuilds that leaked from the pinion side after a few months but even though I set it correctly on the bench I kept Messing with it once on the car searching for "stiffness" I also felt that looseness there caused the leaks and maybe actually damaged the seal so this time fully satisfied myself that is was not stiff and left well alone.. No leaks.

just an update there seems to be a supply issue with the main rack seals AS10413, Martin Robey does not have any , Allseals in Norwich said they are on back order, SOC spares does not have any , will keep looking, there will be a minimum order thing somewhere
