Centre Console Lights

Does is centre console ie where the heater controls, cigarette lighter etc illuminated? If so, where are the bulbs situated?

Peter there is no illumination on the centre console other than the footwell lights on either side.
The plastic heater control surround is solid and would not pass light through in any case.

Peter sorry but there is a small bulb attached to the cigar lighter iirc.

Federal Stags were fitted with hooded lights above the heater controls. Maybe something a whizkid with a 3D printer could produce for RHD Stags?

This is a great idea.
My car has a few green leds on the coin tray, which work well.

If had a federal part , pretty sure I could do a rhd version for 3D printing.

I am also wondering if a dim bulb behind the ashtray might shine through the heater control slider openings.

I find the federal lamp as fitted a bit anemic, a strip of leds under the shroud would be much better. It doesn’t seem to be handed, just a plastic hood with two Phillips screws holding it and the bulb holder on.

I don’t think a backlight would help the heater controls, the lettering is paint on black plastic.

That’s from an angle you never see unless you are crawling around the footwells! it’s not that bad from a normal position!

They are handed. the bit on the left curves around the dash on the left hand side.

Yes looks so much better from normal viewing angle. It is quite dark in this area at night, though not really that much going on in terms of controls or switch gear to be concerned about. Wonder why triumph thought only required for federal stags !

Looks like a definite candidate for an entrepreneurial 3D printer in the UK.
Does the lamp wiring appear on any of the wiring diagrams and if so where is the feed from?
