    Choke handle coming off

The plastic/rubber choke knob has recently taken to detacthing into my hand from the metal rod when I pull it out.

Before I just glue it back on, is there anything I should be aware of? Or shall I get a new knob?

Is it possible to push the metal rod in too far as I want to push the knob on quite hard for the glue to.set but don't want to break anything.

Yes the rod can be pushed in too far, but can also be pulled back out.

Best solution is to use a grub screw to secure the knob to the rod…. If it isn’t an original type cable.

Has the rod got a slot cut into it?

If it has, it’s ideal for a grubscrew.

I can supply a knob with a grubscrew fitted.

EJ ward were offering a metal knob with a grubscrew too Iirc.

    pmd you.

Makes a change, most don't know how to pull their knobs off.

If anyone else had posted that moderators would’ve been over it like a dose of salts. So to speak.

I thought the question raised its head quite often.

I've bought one, but it doesn't fit. The hole is too small and is round but the shaft is 6 sided. Did you enlarge the hole? Asked Wards but no reply yet.

Wards have just rung and this knob is for the new round choke cable. You need to drill the knob to fit the original cable
