    Seat belt warning circuit diagram?

Has anyone got a wiring diagram from a later RHS Stag? None of the diagrams I have, or the ones I've found on the internet show the wiring for the seat belt warning. My car is a 1972 build with some MkI wiring and some MkII wiring, and I installed a replacement main harness from a ?? build car - there's a 3-pin connector above the heater which doesn'rt match anything on my car so I'm thinking it might have the seat switches connected to it.

Just looked on my 2nd edition loose wiring diagram which is for LD 20,001 on Richard and can’t see it there but I will have another search
Paul - 3 projects, 1 breaker - garage built and housing 2 white Stags. One runs, one doesn't

Seat belt warning light was from LD30001 on.

DJT Sounds like my LD24773D is a Heinz 57 Job, as only one seat has the wiring installed and not connected and the dash has the seat belt annunciator

Could be. Who knows what has gone on in the past 50 years! Mine is later than yours and close to the end of the Third Sanction build (LD254**). I believe it was fairly unmolested (until I got it ) and there is no seat belt wiring, or warning light on the dash. No hazard warning lights either.

Take a look at the federal mk2 wiring diagrams in the ROM, they had them from 73 and I can’t imagine it being a great deal different.

On my federal lhd the seatbelt wires come in from the right side only, they branch out from the main rhs loom. There is only a seat base switch on the passenger seat. power comes from the gearbox reverse switch feed , through a neutral switch (auto would be similar) and the passenger seat and its seatbelt clip are in series so that the circuit is only made should the seat be occupied, the driver seat belt switch is parallel with that. the power is fed to the seatbelt light, also to the buzzer via a diode. IIRC the wires in that loom are all black .

I'm assuming (I eliminated mine and tucked them away!) that if ithe ignition is on, its not in neutral and the driver seatbelt is not clicked, OR the passenger seatbelt AND the seat base switch is occupied the light comes on and the buzzer buzzes.

My car - 20165, built November 4th 1972 - is a real bitza. The doors are Mk1, boot lid is Mk2, dash is like Dave's above - no seat belt warning, no hazard flashers, Mk2 instruments. The main loom was badly molested so I fitted a much better one when I put the car back together and found a few differences. The one I'm trying to rectify at the moment is that the feed to the turn signal flasher isn't connected to anything - it just goes to a 3-pin plug visible through the speaker aperture in the same place as the two connectors to the dash panel. Pretty much everything else works as expected.

That is correct for an early Mk2 (Mk1.5) in the LD20001 series, along with headrests, stripes, alloys, etc. Anti-burst door locks, seat belt warning and hazards came in around LD30001, which were being built before the last of the LD20001 series.

My car is fitted with Mk2 seats, the central interior light and steel wheels! Oh, the Torquatrol fan control was Mk1 but the radiator is mk2.

DJT Hi Tomorrow I'll take a photo of my dash board and post it too. Does the club have someone who can provide further details of my Stag? I'm a bit of a numpty as it was love at first sight and this where I learn my lesson. Having said that, we've done several sensible improvements such as proper wiring repairs and fitted a DAB radio. We've already covered 160 miles without incident too.
My car has an additional electric fan which once the car is up to temperature continues to run, until we shut down and then runs on for a couple of minutes. Do you know if there is a water pump modification for the triumph engine? It starts on the button and runs beautifully having said that

                      Guy.
If your electric fan is in addition to the engine driven one, it really only needs to start working if the temperature gets too high. Perhaps its thermostatic switch needs setting a bit higher.
There are two mods, one is electric, the other is belt driven. There is no reason to think that your car will need either of them. Just keep an eye on the coolant level and the temperature.
I have had my Stag for 36 years, and have only serviced the water pump twice.
                      Mike.

Lingen Thank you for the words of wisdom. really appreciate the response. The temperature gauge needle sits just slightly to the left of vertical when the fan comes into play. I have the installation instructions for this electric additional fan and set up procedure too, so I'll see if it need the sensor on the top hose adjusting.
