Electric Problems no Spark.

Hi All, just completed a rebuild of the Engine and started to put back together. I now Can’t get a spark. I have put a new coil on and charged the leads. The spark plugs are fine and the engine is turning over.just no spark.
Does anybody know how I can check the electronic ignition kit Lumenition optronic power module and how I can check optronic distributor to see if power is getting through. i Would appreciate any advice. Thanks Marc.

That 3 pin plug / socket between the Module & distributor chopper is a favourite.

A poorly designed in weakness IMO for what they cost.

To check if the Electronic Ignition is working, monitor the voltage on the negative terminal of the coil. If the voltage switches up and down from 12 volts to 0 volts (approx) then the EI is working.

After months of not being able to get my engine to start I noticed it had a lumenition. I picked on this thread, found the three way connector, separated it and rejoined it - engine ran (producing clouds of blue smoke, all that fuel sitting in the pots). Still needs a bit of tinkering, but a major hurdle over.

Change the luminition 3 way for a supaseal 3 way
