    Temp gauge reading hot

Temp gauge reads towards red - I have kenlow fitted, replaced thermostat, flushed radiator and block and have replaced the sensor with a calibrated one from LD Part. Have also added a stagweber expansion tank. Any suggestions as to what to check next?
the alternator whilst reading ok on this photo, most of the time is throwing out 15v so I’ll replace this

10v voltage stabiliser on the back of the speedo, used for Temp & Fuel guages.

          Interesting post.
Am I correct that if only one gauge is showing an duff reading it’s either the gauge or sender, but if more than one it’s likely to be stabiliser?

Could well be the case, although those hot wire stabilsers usually fail to stabilise & give full battery volts, so readings would be high rather than low.

Stabiliser only feeds temp gauge and fuel gauge. If it fails, both will read high, or not at all.

Great info thanks. Helps with one I’m trying to fix.

It had bad head gasket leaks but wasn’t over heating.

Just before work commenced, temp gauge was very high but probably still actually not overheating.

Earthing the sender wire made the gauge read even higher though.

Thinking a new sender will fix after head gaskets are done. Fuel gauge was stable.
