    Stag Dashboard Speaker

I have advertised for one of these in the wanted section of the forum, however does anyone know if a speaker from any other vehicle would also be suitable please?

I mean the speaker that fits underneath the grill on the top of the dashboard

Most folks use the one from Retrosound. For me it was not an exact fit but I was able to fit it in but it's only held in at 2 anchor points. for the price I paid. I'm not that impressed with the sound quality of it bu itself. I do have a subwooofer behind the back seat so I use the balance knob on the radio to balance the sound.

Lots do fit the retrosound.. but there are a few versions. Do a search on the forum

      The slimmest is the r57-r

However that is a dual cone speaker for stereo, if it’s an mono then you could go cheaper but get the slimmest one you can find.. that one above is 43mm deep but as Sujit says barely fits an A/C heater, I think the regular heater gives a little more space. Like Sujit I have that one it’s not great given the position, I have a Bluetooth type speaker in the parcel shelf with wire connecton to the rear channels that helps a lot.. I spent Thousands on that interior, I’m not cutting it up for speakers!!

For my project car I decided to renovate the original Radiomobile 1085 AM/FM radio and looked around for a replacement speaker similar to the original, which was well past its sell by date. I found this one from Visaton at a very reasonable price - it has the advantage of having a shallow depth that easily fits into the available space, and has the correct 4 ohm impedance to match the Radiomobile. The only downside was that I needed to make an adaptor plate because the mounting holes don't align, but this wasn't too difficult using an offcut of aluminium sheet.

Bought a dual front speaker from retro sound, Its ok. Not brilliant. The radio however is out standing.
