    Expansion bottle seal?

I have an original expansion boittle on my Stag, no worries about that except that when I was tightening the pressure cap I felt that the brass fitting on the top of the bottle moved slightly. Examining the structure, it seems that the plastic bottle has a lip moulded to the top edge and the brass top is peened over that lip to seal the bottle and therefore the system. I wonder if there's a known adhesive or sealant that I could run in between the plastic and the brass to make sure it doesn't move again or leak? Making a die to peen the edge over some more is do-able but I'd rather use the time doing something more interesting!

…. Clean clean & clean again. Dry in oven at 50 -60 deg C.
Use superglue in the joint with the bottle upside down.
    pressure test.

Should not need activator because of copper presence.

    Can also use activator though.

There is a rubber seal in the collar…. Clinching poor & seal perished…. However, new bottles are not that good.

I do have a spare bottle here.

It’s possible that this joint is largely responsible for much of the stag’s reputation & also (one) unknowing reason that header tanks get bought too.

    oops I’ve said it now!

I had 3 new expansion bottles all proved faulty, ie split on seam, so i fitted a Header Tank EJ Wards, no problem since.

Two goes through the dishwasher at 75°C, overnight in the Rayburn warming oven. Seems quite dry now.

What grade of cyanoacrylate do you suggest - really liquid or more viscous?

Well, I used some ebay special in 2g tubes. I'll have to try and find some Wilko branded ones if that fails.....
