Just trial fitting the gear stick and (it doesn’t have the little spring and plunger fitted) having put it in position there doesn’t appear to be any bias across the gate, normally there is a spring that bias’s the gear lever to the 3-4 plane so when you move from second it automatically pushes across the gate to line up with third. Is this correct or have I got something missing or out of adjustment? Thanks Keith

Thanks Neil, that’s what I thought, just feels a bit odd. Only being a four speed I suppose it doesn’t really need it but so used to modern five and six speed boxes with a bias I thought I would check before trying to fit it with the little spring and plunger as I don’t think I want to be doing that twice.
My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.

To fit the anti-rattle spring just pack the hole in the gearstick with grease, put the spring and plunger in and carefully insert into the gate.Last edited by mole42; 17 November 2023, 07:17.Richard
