Looking for recommendations to my crankshaft nitrided
Hopefully bedfordshire area . I now have a decent engine but thought I'd get this done before putting engine in .
What else would you recommend me doing on bottom end before installing engine.

I had one done by Oselli engineering a few years ago, though they don't do the job themselves, they send it out somewhere.

Mine was done as part of a regrind and full balance of the rotating assembly of my MK1 which is the 256bhp fuel injected one.

heat treatment places have come and gone a lot in recent times.

the last 2 places I used are no longer available.

re bottom end…. Get the conrods inspected for bore sizes, roundness , straightness & twist.

Small ends bushes can be changed, but must be honed to size….. on a sunnen machine or similar.

bit of history on the engine it has supposedly been rebuilt 10 years ago then left in corner of workshop .
my mechanic who is a stag guy is saying if there's not leaking in head gasket area we will leave the heads alone . for now just looking to do bottom end . but will know more as we inspect it further
