Hi first time posting so no nasty comments. Am looking for advice on where to send my stag for a replacement roof. The frame possibly needs some tlc although it does work fairly well. Needs new softtop definitely. Appreciate honest advice. Prefer advice if you've used them yourselves. Based Buckinghamshire so don't want to go further than 50 miles. Thanks

I don't know why you would expect nasty comments to a simple question.
I only know of 2 places that repair frames and install new hoods - South East Trimming near Faversham in Kent (100+ miles from Bucks) and The Stag Hood Factory in Coulsdon (90+ miles from Bucks). I am not aware of any in your radius that do both.
There are a few sellers of the bare hoods for DIY installation (Aldridge being one of the best), but it is a big job, which you can read about on this forum. RImmer Brothers sell both the hoods and reconditioned frames but I do not believe they sell complete hood and frames.

Welcome MaryJ
Sad that you think there may be nasty comments, I hope with certainly not from anyone on this forum.
Anyway se trimming and Jim Vangent gets a thumbs up from me for 3 customers and for my own hood he fitted back in 1999. ok a few stitches broke 3 years ago which I fixed myself else it still looks the business.
He is worth the trip but call him and make up your own mind

welcome.
Dont be put off by the distance.
A good hood fit is worth travelling for.
A general trimmer usually doesn’t have enough stag specific experience to get a good fit.
Recommend Jim at south east trimming.
if it’s all pre arranged, it’s possible to get a swap done in a morning there. One I took to swap was done in about 2hours after pre arrangements. There are 2 secrets to staying on top :- 1. Don't give everything away.

Had mine done by Jim in October 2022. All pre-arranged, my wife and I drove up from Devon (over 500-mile round trip) and spent a few days looking around the area. We arrived at Jim"s place around lunch time and drove away 2 hours later. We stayed in the Castle House Hotel, Canterbury for two nights as they have a private car park. Most Canterbury hotels use public car parks. Visited Hever Castle and Chartwell on the way home. Other attractions are available.Last edited by DJT; 23 January 2024, 09:56.Dave

… it’s possible to swap a hood as a diy proposition but takes a good amount of time & some level of skill / experience too. For ever thankful that I watched a demo years ago at billing aquadrome. Didn’t really show any frame repair/ refurbishments though, which can be quite involved. There are 2 secrets to staying on top :- 1. Don't give everything away.
