    Noise and heat control

    20.jpg
According to the last sentence above, 'polythene envelopes that contain glass-fiber packing to absorb noise and control heat' where used.
Does anyone know what they looked like and where they were placed on the vehicle?
The page above is an extract from the USA (probably second run) sales brochure from Feb 1972.

Another page from the well produced USA sales brochure.
Note the photoshopping on the RH seat back. Has been trimmed down to show more leg room in the back!

      The poor man's Corniche?
Maybe not, but you would still have needed to have been well cashed up here in Australia in 1977 to afford a Stag; 7,500 pounds.
Er, you would have needed to have been a super tycoon here in Australia in 1977 to afford a Corniche; 45,000 pounds.
That price would have bought you six Stags.
The Camargue was a touch dearer than the Corniche at 59,000 pounds here.

The manual shown in the brochure with the air con and tan interior would have been a nice car in its day.
        An even better car today!

In my project car, UK 1973 Mk I 1/2, found some of these envelopes pushed into the rear wing cavities behind the left-hand and right-hand boot carpets. The polythene was transparent, probably 1 mm gauge, and the filling was loosely packed fibre glass insulation, pale yellow colour, like you'd use to insulate your roof space. The envelopes had the feel of soft cushions, and couldeasily be deformed and pushed into postion. They were not secured in place by any fixings.

            Thanks for the reply Philip.
Yes, that's what my car had in the the very same spot as well but only one on the LHS. The other must have been gone missing ages ago.
These are probably what the brochure is referring to.
I don't know how two of these 'envelopes' in that area "would absorb noise and control heat"..

Me neither - I didn't replace the envelopes after the rear wings were repaired, I thought it might be better to allow more air circulation.
