    Replacement headlamps

Sorry if this is a commonly asked question. I need to replace the headlamps in my Stag. The existing have corroded reflectors. I have had a search through the forum and some mention the prefered product would be Cibie / Valeo.

So far I am struggling to work out which of the classic parts suppliers would stock them.

I have a collection of Chinese alternators from my Stag and TR6 and would rather not end up in the same boat with headlamps.

    Any advice on trustworthy suppliers?

    Regards

    Gav

PS car is Jan 73.Not sure if they are all the same.

I bought a full new set of Cibies from Chris Witor a couple years ago. Valeo is the company that took over Cibie. So try CW, he might still have some stock.

    Good luck

I had corroded headlight trim and so thought it would be an hour's job to put on some new ones. Then I discovered the corrosion had spread to the reflectors and the panels they attach to (virtually every fixing screw had to be drilled out). To cap it all the centre part of the grill has a bend in it. The moral - don't get any new parts until you know the full extent of the project you are undertaking.

Got mine from Rimmers with Halogen bulbs. Had to bend out one or two of the metal locating tabs on the bowls which seemed to have become squashed in but otherwise great. What took me years was working out how to fix the wiring and switch to get main and dip working properly. Wiring diagram helped.
