Rover v8 conversion - clutch slave cylinder location

    Hi

just started on taking out the six which has been nestled under the bonnet of my stag for a number of years, in the process of doing so I noticed that the clutchslave cylinder has been mounted on the engine by a home made bracket,

As I am about to drop a rover v8 into the hole I wondered if any of you knew the best place to locate the cluch slave and which one to use, I am mating the engine via a adapter plate to what I hope is the original stag gearbox.

    cheers

    Hi Ben

This photo shows RV8 attached to Stag gearbox via adaptor plate, you can see the slave mount plate facing the clutch lever arm.

No longer have this set up as LT77 gearbox now fitted, and adptor plate sold.

      Many thanks

think I will need to have a good look at the gearbox to ensure that it is a stag box,

not sure if the stag and 2500 boxes were one and the same or not,

I presume you used the stag slave cylinder

Yes I used the Stag slave cylinder, and I`m certain the Stag gearbox is a stronger unit than the 2500.
