    No. Sorry. Wish I had!

Are you a bodywork guru, by any chance? A long shot, I know. There don't appear to be many around here! :?I certainly don't mind having a go at my shellbut could use some advice.

        Fair enough!

Does anyone know whether or not one can purchase repair sections for the first few inches of the front of the Staghardtop? I also need to attack the rear of the boot floor. I will post some photos as soon as I can get them.

        Cheers.

          Hi Paul,

There are no commercially available repair sections for the hard top. The choices are: make your own or find a better hard top, I'm afraid.

I am collecting my TV8 short engine tomorrow morning. I can hardly wait! It is the original engine from my car and needs stripping and a proper rebuild but at least it's tangible progress!

                  Hi Paul

                  Great news.

Take your time and make sure that every bearing, chain, gear etc is perfect don't cut corners and you will love it for years.

Make sure the jack shaft bearings are perfect and that the water pump gear is the right hardness (if using the original) and all will be well

Cleanliness is everything when rebuilding an engine. (not wishing to suck eggs and all that)

I have only built two engines before but know what to expect from the Stag lump, I think. Some subtle modifications may be the order of the day but I am not sure yet. It's early days. Only been 20 years so far... :?

As for 19 months, I can think of several thousand reasons why that will not happen in my case! :shock:Yep - £££s! But it's going in the right direction.

                    Pictures of the engine tomorrow.
