windscreen wipers

Hello Chaps,Spot of bother with wipers,on the drivers side, wiper stops the sweep at about 5 inch from the bottom of the screen,its the same position when the wipers park.Can you pull the wipers off the splines and re-position,probably won,t pass the MoTin that position,Any suggestions.ThanksBob

Hi Ian,The car has been off the road of about 20 years,so am just getting round to all the little job i should have done years ago,but your right, i am not sure,they have probably always been like it,looks like a new wiper motor. Bob.

Hi Bob, just reposition it and try it, if it locks up or goe's of the screen be ready to switch off the ignition. Also might be worth putting something over the paintwork at the bottom of the screen just in case.

Hi Bob, easy fix, providing it self parks each time in the same place. As Ian says, lift the arm off the spindle, gentle application of a large screwdriver may help, then re-position it and push back on, 45 seconds on a bad day. Martin.

Hello Martin,

Took me about 30 mins to get the wiperarm off,mine has a very small forked clip that needed a very small screwdriver to pull the clip outwards then off she came,repositioned the arm,wipers sweep and park in the right position,result
