    Carpets

I'm finally getting round to putting the interior back in the car and part of that is fitting new carpets. As it's nearly 4 months since I took everything out I can't remember how the carpet fits round the handbrake gaitor andwhether it be stuck to the tunnel or just rely on the bolted on bits holding it in place.

Does the rectangular base of the gaitor go under the carpet or on top? If it's on top how do I hold it down?

If the job involved a spanner or a soldering iron I'd be able to do it - but fitting this centre bit of carpet has so far defeated me. :X

Any hints or tips would be very much appreciated.

The base of the gaiter is under the carpet. I think the carpet is generally glued but mine isn't and stays in place fine. The front is 'clamped' by the centre console and the back just sits over the tunnel and is tucked in under the rear carpets.

Thanks Dave, At least I've a good idea now of how it goes together now. I'll have another go tomorrow night.

You could try soldering it - that'd stop the bugger coming off Martin.
