Hi all,
I thought I'd introduce myself as I've just bought a Stag, marking my first steps into classic ownership, and believe it's a former members car.
It's a white, December '72 registered Stag fitted with a Rover V8 - reg number WCE 100L. I bought the car this weekend at Anglia Car Auctions and it comes with nothing but it's V5 and an SOC sticker in the window. Due to the sticker, I was hoping that maybe someone in the club might be aware of it and may also be able to provide a bit of backstory for it?
I previously owned a '05 BMW Z4 which was written off last September by some scoundrel who reversed into it at some speed before driving off. As I now WFH full time, I no longer require a reliable daily driver and can spend a bit more time tinkering and fettling, perfect conditions for a classic! With the influence and help of my father-in-law (to be), I started investigating and researching Stags and fell in love. We viewed a number of classics including a '79 Mini and a blue Mk1 Stag fitted with a Ford Essex V6 but nothing quite fit the bill until finally I spotted WCE 100L in the catalogue for ACA's recent auction. I just about clinched it at auction and now await delivery.
I'm very excited to get my hands on it and getting to know the car, and spending time in the community.
