Top of A-post to B-post measurments

Is there a definitive measurement and way to measure between these posts,

I took some measurements either side, and seem to be 5mm out,

You can see in the photo's the places where I measured from with the red arrows.

    Drivers side is 696mm

    Passenger side is 691mm

Or is 5mm an acceptable deviation ?

Can't compare the actual dimensions with yours - as mine has all the trim and cappings fitted - but the driver's side (port side as it's LHD) is 5mm longer than the "starboard" side.

By the way, top marks for getting the Red Arrows to do the measuring with you, they turned down my invitation.

    The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

The Red Arrows were more than happy to help out

So I will take it that 5mm deviation might be ok, of course you could have a little "play" in the trim I guess, if anybody else has a bare shell that they can measure between the two points indicated would be great as curious now as to what the measurements should be.

1/4” was the body tolerance back in last century…. Reality was slightly more….
however, the upper door frame fit is the thing to bear in mind… at this stage. It has quite limited adjustment fore and aft. That affects how effective the seals are too.
