This looks like something that the national historic vehicles organisation and car clubs, including our SOC, should engage with as representative bodies, over and above any individual participation. Sheer weight always counts in any so-called Government consultation. The risk in not engaging is always that our politicians go ahead and make decisions and when we don't like the outcome they can turn around and say 'you asked to contribute, we offered consultation'.

Yes indeed, there's an article on the FBHVC website https://www.fbhvc.co.uk/news/article...built-vehicles and I wouldn't be surprised if the Triumph Forum ( which co-ordinates across Triumph clubs ) also responds. I attended the odd meeting of both for SOC in the past. Sadly I do share the oft held view that, regardless of consulations on most issues, the decision will be forced through regardless.

I previously attended many consultation meetings regarding housing & development plans.

my take-away was there was less than zero intention of taking any notice at all of local residents views, opinions or facts.

the big eye opener was that they were all on paid overtime, whilst our time was unpaid.

we were shown some plans.

they showed a new railway line .

we tried to tell them about the existing housing that was there.

they asked us to wait until they had finished.

after they had finished I got them to show us their drawings again.

they had used drawings from 1973 …. Before the housing had been built.

clueless they there was any housing there…. Had not set foot near it!

they had 13 million budget…. Railway cost a bit more than that, even in the 1990’s.
