Front grill refurbishment

If the silver (clear) anodised surfaces can be preserved it’s worthwhile.
removal will allow corrosion to rapidly take over.

if the part is stripped of paint, re anodising isn’t that expensive and is probably worth doing.

I am currently refurbishing a front grill and sent pictures to two companies that specialise in anodising. One company has not responded after two days, the other has quoted £45 +VAT, based on me dropping off and collecting.

The amount of time to strip and polish the edges, cost of etch primer and top coat, this is turning out to be quite a costly project. The anodising originally on the grill had not prevented the chips from happening, but may have reduced them. Frequent polishing with wax should help keep corrosion away. Difficult to tell if £54 of anodising is worth it, plus of course cost of two 50 mile round trips.

Yep, the travel costs are usually not factored in for many. Can you post the details of both companies in case there is nothing "local" to me?
