I have a faulty valve on one of my tyres and need to replace the rube, my local garage was not sure where to find one. Can anyone direct me in the right direction to order one. If there is anywhere near Leicester that would be fantastic as I can collect
many Thanks
Thank you for reply, I have wire (spoked) wheels on my Stag. So do you have to have tubes on this style of wheel, or can I have just tyre? Sorry if it sound a daft question but never been much good around cars, although trying to learn now
Depends on the wheels. Some more modern wire wheels are designed for tubeless tyres others need tubes, it is mainly to do with the sealing around the ends of the spokes, obviously for tubeless fitment they have to be air tight. Also for tubeless the rim should have the retaining ridge to stop the tyre coming off of the rim if deflated.
A good tyre place should know this.
If you order an inner tube online make sure it is suitable for the size of tyre you have, not just the diameter but the width/profile as well. You may also need a new rim tape (wide rubber band that covers the ends of the spokes to stop them damaging the tube).
Now Stagless but have numerous car projects
So many cars, so little time!
I took my stag wire wheels to a shop. I asked if they could be sealed, but they said no because there are spoke holes very close to the rim. The holes in the center of the rim could be sealed. They use some sort of jell which hardens.
