Help please, I have replaced a cracked and broken wiper switch on my recently acquired 1973 mk2 stag. The first new switch I bought had the wrong wires on the two pins fault , so I got sent a replacement that had been wired correctly. I have problems with the wipers only working on the lowest speed and when you turn them off they stop dead and don’t self park. If I go from speed 1 to speed 2 the wipers stop dead . How do I diagnose the problem(s)? II have a wiring diagram in the Haynes manual but this doesn’t tell me what circuit is made or open ! Thanks.

Usually caused by a faulty park switch or park switch adjustment.
This switch is NLA as a replacement.
its a right fiddle really.
google ‘16w rebuild’ or add ‘Lucas wiper’
mk1 wipers don’t have a delay unit; mk2 do.
interesting to hear who supplied the ‘correctly’’ wired new column switch?
theres a thread on here which shows a picture of the pin swapping iircLast edited by jbuckl; 13 June 2024, 18:59.

Question from me might be, did the old broken switch work, including intermittent and park?
If so then the fault has to be with the new switch, if not then refer to the information shared above
