    led lamp upgrade

I have upgraded interior lamps to LED ones and would like to do the same with side/tail / brake lamps. Are there any recommendations for bulbs or kits? With regard to front side lamps I wondered if a brighter bulb is available to act like a daytime running lamp.
    Any advice welcome.
    Thanks
    Derek

A few people have fitted lamps from these people.

As for DRL's you will have to modify the lamp units to take dual filament bulbs (dual LEDs).

      All mine came from here:

High quality LEDs, Relays and fittings for Vintage Classic and Modern Cars, Motorcycles and Caravans at great value prices. Designed as a straight replacement for standard Incandescent bulbs. Long term Classic owners that know the benefits these LEDs bring. LED Bulbs and Globes.

Classic tungsten filaments all round on my Classic car. Perfectly adequate even at my age IMHO.

I am with Mike on this.

Your car, your money, your rules

avoid cheap kits from on-line auction sites would be my suggestion, but then that should be rule #1 in general

                    Another+1 for classiccarleds.

A worthy upgrade as well as making your lights brighter they put less strain on 50 year old wiring.
Note you will need to change the flasher units to electronic ones.

I have not done my headlights and have no intention to, so I cannot make any recommendations on these.

Having followed many Stags in convoy on club runs, it is clear that a lot of owners are oblivious to the poor state of their 'original' rear lights. Some still have the dimmer relay fitted! Yes, a good clean of light units, wiring connectors and new filament bulbs to replace blackened old ones makes a big difference, but good quality LED lamps takes them to a different level

There can be a big difference between MOT-legal (I.e. lights that 'illuminate') and real world safety.

I followed the article in the September 23 issue of the magazine to fit combined DRLs and sidelights. Though I did extend the design to switch the DRL off when the indicator was going. And I also fitted a reflector around the bulb similar to the one around the indicator bulb.

I too have combined DRLs & Sidelights, they've been in for about 5 years now, the appropriate one also goes off while the indicator is flashing.

Can you please explain how you got the DRL to switch off when the indicator was on? It something I’d like to do, but I can’t figure it out.
