crankshaft regrind /harden

Has this always been so expensive.
Any recommendations as to where I can get this done plz seems to be very few companies doing hardening
Or if anyone has 1 for sale

also does anyone know what the standard size from factory is ?
have a old boy engineer down the road said it might be original and still have its hardened layer on it .he can check with micro meter if we know sizes

0.010” hardness depth on original crank material.

So mostly all need re hardening.

Wallwork was the last place I used. (£165 + vat)

believe there may be lower cost places available still.

check for straightness and growth after hardening, or do a two stage grind … 2/3rd before and 1/3 after.

polish with 3m fine pad roll after hardening.

wash clean wash.
