    Intermittent Brake Warning Light

    Hi All,

I am seeing the warning light from time to time, it normally is on when I start up then goes after a couple of miles. I have checked the wiring and the brakes work well regardless of the light being on or not. Just in case I have rebled them but no sign of air. Am i missing something ?

    Hi Chris,

Could it be the slug in the PWDA valve slightly out of position or a dodgy sensor?

Hi Phil, yeah thinking that but weird how it always happens when starting from cold then is fine within a few minutes

        Chris.
Try unplugging the wire on the PDW switch. If the problem goes away, then it will be that the shuttle in the switch needs re-centering.

It also can be activated when oil level is low , especially when braking….. its hooked into oil pressure too.

Tonights stag job was fixing yet another previous (expensive speciallist) ignition bodge.

the brake pdwa connection had been left disconnected…. Fairly common.

Definitely not oil pressure related I have the dual oil / water temp gauge which is registering a consistent 40-45 psi using the capillary pipe. I am leaning towards a switch / shuttle issue...

Mine was a dicky oil pressue switch, more noticeable at idle and once warm.
