    BW35 still leaking

The BW35 of our Stag is still leaking oil from the front seal.
I'm sure the leak is from the front seal as I can see traces from the front seal down to the stone guard.
It only occurs after a long(er) drive, so only when the oil is hot.
So far I've replaced the seal twice and also checked the oil cooler and pipes for blockage.
Is there anything I forgot to check or is there another advice.

Did you check the surface of the shaft running in the oil seal?? The vast majority of the worn and leaking oil seals I have seen/changed usually have wear marks on the corresponding shaft that runs in them. Unless the surface is smooth with no pits or wear "ridges" or "grooves" then any new weal will only last a short time before it gets worn and leaks.

Having said that it is a BW35 - I would be worried if it didn't leak!!
Now Stagless but have numerous car projects
So many cars, so little time!

Has the shaft got runout or misalignment?

Unfortunately I didn't make a picture without the seal.
For a better look I have to remove the autobox again................and that is not the easiest way.
