Spin on Oil filter

Oh yes, there are some terrible oil filters around. I have seen the analyses too - frightening. I always use the Mann item DJT mentions above.


I haven't seen any spin-on conversions (and I bought mine 12 years ago) that don't have the sliding inner member that takes up tolerances in seal thickness, so the potential bypass issue you mention isn't a problem for me. I misunderstood - thought it was the built-in bypass valve in most all spin-on cansiter filters that you were thinking about, my bad.

Richard have you noticed that the o ring that comes with the cartridge filter (OE) seems to be more compressible than what they used to be?, I seem to have to tighten mine a few times after fitting, so this conversion must be a nightmare as it has more O rings to seal
