A new gearbox is wonderful!

After rebuilding a replacement J-type o/d gearbox for Mabel, and now that it's installed, I wanted to report how fabulous it is to drive with a splendid, noise-free and responsive gearbox again! Here's some photos:

Here's almost all the old parts - just missing the syncro rings, overdrive filters, gaskets and the overdrive cone clutch which went back for recon - for a total outlay of over £700. That would have been nearer £950 except I had the two main bearings in stock:

Good to hear and something I've had on the cards for quite a few years now as my 3rd gear has just a little whine, nothing to bad but I'll get round to it one day - maybe.....
