Hi everyone, inlet manifold now off stag, thanks for all your advice on that one. Now have another problem I bought myself a enderscope and number six cylinder has some brown gunge inside, so I am going to attempt to get the heads off I would be grateful for any tips in doing that, if I get that far will I be able to unseize engine or will I have to go further because I will be ok with heads but not sure on anything else. Many thanks Steve.

Depends on how badly the bore has rusted. You will probably have to remove that piston to free the rings off as they often stick in the grooves. That would mean removing the sump and removing the connecting rod cap. This is dependent on whether you can actually get to the nuts. If you can get the cap off you should be able to rotate the crank a bit if the other pistons are not seized. You can then use hammer and a block of wood to knock the piston down the bore a bit to free it off. If the piston is at bottom dead centre you may have a big problem freeing it off. If you can move the piston down the bore then the rust can be cleaned off the bore and it should be relatively simple to push the piston out from the bottom. Whether it is worth doing or whether the engine is going to need to come out for a full rebuild should be known once you have got the bore cleaned out. The worst corrosion normally occurs just on top of the piston rather than down the sides of it
